Chronology
of Polly Webster (eldest daughter of Asa & Sally)

1796 Aug 28 Polly is born. Her family was living on the east half of lot 4 on the first concession of Elizabethtown Township at this time.
1798 Jun 6 Polly was baptized, according to the records of Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church, Williamstown, Glengarry County, Ontario (probably by an itinerate preacher).
1806 Polly, age 9, moves with her family to lot 35 on the fifth concession of Augusta Township.
1817 Polly is out on her own by the time that the census is taken this year. She may have gone out to work, or she may have married. We have no details on her first marriage.
1830 The census for Kitley Township taken this year shows Isaac Marshall and family living on lot 21 of the seventh concession. Isaac and his first wife, Elizabeth, have two sons and three daughters, all under 16, at this time. The sons were Uriah (born about 1822) and Norton (born about 1829). Two of the daughters were Chloe (1819-1840) and Sabrina (1825-1876). The identity of the third is unknown. Benjamin Soper, who would later marry Polly's sister Betsy, was a neighbour of the Marshalls, living on part of lots 19 and 20 of the eighth concession.
Before 1831 Jun Elizabeth Marshall dies. She is probably buried in Toledo-on-the-Hill Cemetery in Kitley Township, but there is no stone for her.
1831 Jun 14 Polly marries Isaac Marshall. He is 40 and she is almost 35. Their marriage bond, dated June 8, 1831, lists her as "Polly Webster, widow." Either her first husband was also named Webster, or she was using her maiden name again. Both Polly and Isaac are listed as living in Kitley at the time of their marriage.
1832 Feb 28 Polly and Isaac have a son and name him Baldwin, for Polly's brother who died May 21, 1830.
1832 In the census and assessment for Kitley Township taken this year, Isaac Marshall's household contains two males over 16, one female over 16, and also four males and four females under 16. The identity of the second male over 16 is a mystery. Three of the four males under 16 would be Uriah, Norton, and Baldwin. Two of the four females under 16 would be Chloe and Sabrina, and a third was likely the other daughter (name unknown) from Isaac's first marriage. That leaves one male and one female as yet unidentified. It's possible that Isaac's first wife died giving birth to one or both of these children. The other possibility is that Polly brought one or two children with her from her first marriage.
About 1836 Polly and Isaac have a son named Ferdinand.
About 1838 Polly and Isaac have a daughter named Martha.
1839-1845 Polly and Isaac Marshall leave Kitley Township, probably for Elizabethtown Township, both in Leeds County.
1852 Jan The first full census is taken in Canada West, with all individuals in each household listed by name. Polly and Isaac Marshall appear in Elizabethtown Township, Leeds County, with their children, Ferdinand and Martha. The location of Baldwin at this time isn't known.
1855 May 21 Baldwin Marshall dies, exactly 25 years after the uncle for whom he was named. Baldwin is buried in Toledo-on-the-Hill Cemetery.
1858 Sept 15 Martha marries Dr. William Nair, from Scotland.
1866 Oct 16 Isaac Marshall dies and is buried in Toledo-on-the-Hill Cemetery. His obituary in the Brockville newspaper states that he died at Kitley at the age of 75, and that he was born in 1791 in Harford, NY, and came to Canada in 1801.
About 1868 or 1869 Ferdinand marries Mary Catherine Botsford.
1869 Jan 22 Polly Marshall dies in Merrickville, Ontario. She is buried in Toledo-on-the-Hill Cemetery.
